In the meantime, we have had strong earthquakes, some very deep in the earth. Are galactic energy rays heating up the core of the earth? Is this also affecting our sun? https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/

Southern Hemisphere's AR2719 is back. EISN for today is 16. The GOES X-ray flux plot shows activity levels in the A0 to A1. Not significant.

However, viewing NASA's latest images at The Sun Today reveals two visible active areas (one new one in the North Hemisphere). Both areas are geo-centered.

See The Sun Today website at: https://sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov/assets/img/la ... _HMIIF.jpg

The latest comment from Belgium's Royal Observatory:

COMMENT: X ray flux remained below B level throughout the period and this
expected to remain so as the visible side of the Sun turned spotless

West of the decayed NOAA AR 2719 an eruption occurred around noon August 22
as evidenced from EUV images with e.g. a dimming in SDO/AIA 193 at 12:30
UT. Currently available SoHO/LASCO C2 images do not show any obvious signs
of a possibly associated Earth bound CME.

Proton flux levels are at background values and are expected to remain so.

Solar wind declined further with speed dropping to around 400 km/s and a
nominal magnetic field of 2-5nT.
The phi angle which was stable in the negative sector before the period but
shifted suddenly into the positive sector at the start of the period.
Solar wind conditions are expected to become enhanced from between noon
August 24 and noon August 25 with the possible arrival of the August 20
CME. Effects in terms of solar wind speed should be small but the magnetic
field may see significant effects of the slow passing cloud.

Geomagnetic conditions were quiet to unsettled (K Dourbes 1-3 and NOAA Kp
0-2) and are expected to remain so for at least the remainder of the day.
Should the August 20 CME carry significant Southward magnetic field, minor
geomagnetic storms are possible from noon August 24 onwards.
TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 016, BASED ON 22 STATIONS.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

We have possibly had another hyderflare, or perhaps an active region has suddenly erupted with a minor flare.

UPDATE: It is now confirmed that Beta-Gamma active region 2719 is responsible for this minor solar flare.

There are presently two new active regions: AR2719 from the South and a rapidly growing region (AR2720?) from the North.

See photos from NASA or visit The Sun Today: https://sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov/assets/img/la ... _HMIIF.jpg

GOES X-Ray flux shows a lot of disturbance and a B1.0 flare, which occurred today at 1250 UTC
https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/goes-x-ray-flux

Wow, the sun has changed. Is this due to galactic radiation which is not only affecting the sun, but also causing diverse and very deep earthquakes on earth? Is the earth being heated by these galactic rays?

Here is the recent comment from Belgium's Royal Observatory:

COMMENT: X-ray flux remained below B level throughout the period.
NOAA AR 2719 revived (Cro, Beta-Gamma) and there is a new region emerging
near N7W20 which appears a fairly simple bipolar region.

X-ray flux is expected to remain below C level.

No new Earth directed CMEs were observed in coronagraph data.

Proton flux levels were at background values and are expected to remain so.

Solar wind speed declined further to around 360 km/s. A number of sudden
density and magnetic field increases occurred since around 6:00UT.
These
are possibly representing the first signs of the August 20 CME. Total
magnetic field grew to 7nT with recently a peak of Bz down to -6nT.
Further increases of magnetic field strength can be anticipated with the
possibility of periods of persistent Southward magnetic field orientation
over the next 24 to 48 hours. Afterwards, Solar wind conditions should
recover to nominal.

Geomagnetic conditions were quiet (both local K Dourbes and NOAA Kp 0-2).
Active geomagnetic conditions and possibly minor geomagnetic storms must be
anticipated over the next 24 to 48 hours.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 029, BASED ON 23 STATIONS.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

This is the text message from August 14 through August 25, 2018, from Belgium's Royal Observatory consortium of international astronomers.

From http://www.spaceweather.com/archive.php ... &year=2018

RAPIDLY GROWING SUNSPOT: Two days ago, sunspot AR2720 didn't exist. Now it sprawls across the more than 75,000 km of the sun's surface and has two dark cores as wide as Earth. Thierry Legault photographed the growing sunspot group on Aug. 25th from the Saint-Véran/Astroqueyras observatory in the French Alps:
Image
"Sunspot AR2720 has metamorphosed since yesterday and it is now as large as the Earth!" says Legault. "I photographed the region using a Celestron C14 EdgeHD telescope and an Astrosolar filter."

The magnetic canopy of AR2720 is crackling with B-class solar flares--minor explosions hardly befitting a sunspot of its size. However, this is what we expect during solar minimum. Even large sunspots tend to be quiet, and so far AR2720 is no exception. Stay tuned for updates.

The latest GOES X-ray Flux plot shows that while AR2719 is once again gradually decaying, the northern beta, AR2720 is releasing some serious B flares. See The Sun Today for recent solar photos taken by NASA at http://www.thesuntoday.org/the-sun-now/
