The Holy Icon of the Ancient of Days is absolutely correct (against the Iconoclasts of our days).

I looked at the article, and it says "The Wonderworking Kursk Icon depicts the Father as the Ancient of Days."

I don't see how the author came to that conclusion. There's a picture of God in the icon, but nowhere does it imply he is Ancient of Days.

Does not the service in the Church refer to the Son as the Ancient of Days? There seems to be two contradictory views here.

Interesting question, soldier. I look forward to more responses.

I believe it is a reference to the figure depicted at the top of the icon, above the Theotokos.

In Christ,

Fr. Enoch

“We cannot destroy the Ecclesiastical Canons, who are defenders and keepers of the Canons, not their transgressors.” (Pope St. Martin the Confessor)
