Why does the Calendar the Church approved at Nicea need defending? The New Calendar is schismatic and iconoclasm. They are the ones who need to justify their nonsense.

"The spouse of Christ cannot be adulterous, she is uncorrupted and pure, She knows one home; she guards with chaste modesty the sanctity of one couch. She keeps us for God. She appoints the sons whom she has born for the Kingdom. Whoever is separated from the Church and is joined to an adulteress is separated from the promises of the Church; nor can he who forsakes the Church of Christ attain to the rewards of Christ."

I don't think it does need defending. Those who honour the traditions of the Church will keep it, and those who for various reasons (ignorance, love of praise, ecumenist false love, etc) will not. God desires all men to be saved, but he also arranges things so that a separation will take place, so that those who are zealous for the Truth will be manifest.
