Beautiful Traditional Medieval Russian Choir

Post by Matthew »

Check this out.

Sirin. Heavenly King. Speech at the "For Life - 2011", July 8, 2011, the hotel "Salute" in Moscow.
The ensemble of ancient sacred music "Sirin" was established in October 1989 by Andrey Kotov - singer, choirmaster, and folklorist, for many years has been studying the characteristics of authentic singing medieval music and Russian folk songs. The name comes from the name of the ensemble singing birds of paradise that sings "Song of the unspeakable escaped souls." The reason for the emergence of "Syrian" was the desire of young musicians to comprehend the ancient tradition of spiritual singing.

This one is really good.

I also enjoyed this Paschal song.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.
