Ordination of St. Photius I

Post by Justice »

What do you think of this article? granted it's on Catholic encyclopedia but I think it's worth looking at .http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/12043b.htm
This article claims St. Photius was ordained by a heretic and that the east fell into heresy before 1054 A.D.

.

What you are reading on New Advent is the typical anti-Orthodox Christian rhetoric. Roman Catholics do not consider St. Photius a saint, nor do they consider many of our post-1054 AD saints to be saints either. However, they do make exceptions for St. Seraphim of Sarov.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Minor correction: they do consider St. Photius a saint. New Advent is an old encyclopedia that was made available online, so it does have some problems.
