Since regfae came from the Rastafarian movement, is it ok to listen to it or am I just being overly cautious?

It is probably better to listen to sacred chant, especially that of the Paraclesis to the Virgin Theotokos. Our Lady is of great help in our salvation, our sanity, and our daily lives. She truly saves us from mishaps.

Have you listened to these music videos on youtube?

(Odes 1-6) Eikona

Here is a printout of the Great Paraclesis to the Theotokos - http://www.orthodoxchristian.info/pages/megapara.htm

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.
