Are there any Orthodox Christian vendors of modest clothing for Orthodox Christian women and children?
I know many Orthodox Christians who would rather buy from Orthodox Christian vendors, but are there Orthodox Christians who sew and sell modest clothing online? I know some Orthodox Christians who buy clothes from Muslim or Jewish online vendors because they want to dress modestly. There is this online clothing site called Holy Clothing, which appears to be a Wicca, New Age, or Jewish outlet. I feel weird viewing these online sites. They do not have Christian modesty in mind, but boast about their own particular faith.
Most skirts that I have purchased online are too short for me. The length they give is often misleading. However, if I buy tall skirts, then they are too long. I figure that by the time I purchase some fabric, wash, cut, and sew it, I come out ahead, as it takes time to rip out side seams or hems and make the needed adjustments on vendor purchased apparel. In addition, I have found that I must resew the seams of newly purchased clothing from stores or online vendors as seams are poorly sewn or threads break the first time I wash them. If a skirt is too short, then I might have to add a ruffle, but I must search the fabric store for suitable fabric if any can be found. Most of the time, I end up repairing and giving these clothes away to a charity because they usually shrink when I wash them the first time in a cold wash. It does not matter if the material is cotton or rayon. Therefore, it is best to make my own clothing, but that can be time consuming.
My Metropolitan would like to have some online links of suitable modest apparel for women and children.
Are there any online vendors who are Christians?
EDIT: I am starting this thread here in the open forum so that men can also contribute.
I have found that some husbands like to buy their wives modest but pretty skirts and dresses for St. Valentine's Day. (Feb. 14/27). Muslim sites have outside apparel that are not very attractive, as they are quite baggy. In addition, I was reading in an Orthodox book, that when Christians wear Muslim clothing, then Muslims may think that these Christian have converted to Islam. We might, therefore, be giving the wrong message by wearing modest clothing made by Muslims.
