Aid for Fire Victims in Greece, July 2018

Post by Maria »

Are there any True Orthodox Churches that are taking donations of clothing for the victims of the recent fires in Greece?

Greece has "serious indications" that a fire that killed at least 83 people near Athens earlier this week was started deliberately, Citizen Protection Minister Nikos Toskas says.

The blaze broke out on Monday and hit coastal villages popular with tourists.

Some 60 people are still being treated in hospital, 11 in intensive care. Dozens more are missing.

Greek authorities are looking for dozens of people missing after the deadly wildfires near Athens.

At least 80 people have died, and a search continues for survivors who fled the blaze, including those who escaped to sea by boat.

The fire is thought to have been the deadliest on record in Greece.

On the HOTCA website there's a letter by Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Attica who addresses the fire.
