It seems inevitable to me. I don't know how you could stop this. All the churches can do is resist ever allowing this practice. If people believe more in the government and the democratic ideology than the church, and thanks to t.v., most do, it's like living on an alien planet. They will grant any power to the government eventually.
It might help people decide once and for all that the only churches worth belonging to are the ones who don't pretend they can change what marriage means.
So maybe all Orthodox groups will grow from this, and if the big orthodox churches try to change, it will be the last straw for many of them and so the resisting Churches will benefit and grow, as a silver lining. Maybe there will be repentance about other things as a good result.
I discovered that in grade six children were given sex education, called in newspeak, 'life education,' and told they should engage in sexual activity 'when they felt ready.' They are not informed of the age of consent in these classes, and they are only twelve years old mostly. This seemed like a crime to me, so I investigated by calling the school and asking what the policy was on informing students of the legal age of consent as a part of 'life education' (should be called life-creation abuse education). They wouldn't give speak to me without proving my identity. So I called the head of the Education Department for the state and asked him what the policy or rule on this question was. He said he didn't know, and to check the United Nations Website. I suggested he wasn't dong his job if he couldn't answer the question himself. He got upset and said he felt challenged. I couldn't find anything on the U.N. site. Maybe I should call them and they can put me through to their home planet.
Education is all the doomsday weapon you need.
This program aims to prevent 'heterosexism,' The idea that only heterosexuality is normal. In some cases children have been asked to act as informants if they know any one with a heterosexist viewpoint.
EDUCATION minister Adrian Piccoli insists he will not shut down a program that tries to stop students using "heterosexist" and homophobic language.

The NSW government is resisting pressure to cancel a program that targets homophobia and transphobia in schools.

The Proud Schools program, introduced by the Keneally Labor government in early 2011, aims to reduce homophobia in the schoolyard by educating high-school students and staff on same-sex attraction and gender issues. It is currently being trialled in 12 schools around the state.
Almost everyone else around here just elected what I refuse to call a conservative government and they plan to continue the program.
