I have read somewhere that, "Even the blood of martyrdom does not cleanse the sin of schism." And surely the New Calendarists are schismatics and heretics.

Have read it now : what a charming book !
I will be back with specific comments later. I finished it awhile back, and have to refresh my memory before I post about the Elder.

But about St Paul Florensky, there is NO DOUBT in my mind he is a genuine New Martyr. I can see how specially prayerful he was and
I am sure a very unique soul. Not someone who would ever go along with the MP or the Renovationists.

Want to mention that all doubts are cleared up on this point.

Doubts about whether St Pavel Florensky should really be considered as a New Martyr.
It was discussed on the first Page that he did write about Sophianism
However, the book under examination, "Salt of the Earth", makes it clear that Fr Pavel himself did not
agree with that approach later in life.
When someone asked him about his Sophiological bent, so to speak, he dismissed that with a laugh, saying
something like "Oh i outgrew THAT !".

So misunderstandings do gain currency when they are simply not the complete story, as here.

I meant more, though, that since Fr Pavel DID stand up strongly against the Sergianists, he is fully qualified
to be considered a New Martyr, it would seem.

Did Rocor include him, though, in the 1981 Glorification ceremony ? Maybe not ?
Otherwise, we would have heard about him much, much more in these years since 1981.

People do change. What they do near the end of their lives is more important.

Did they repent? That is the key point.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Thanks for the clarification on the issues that made something about him doubtful. I agree that he was indeed a true Orthodox Martyr.
