Russia's Catacomb Saints

Post by Грешник »

Fathers Please Bless!

Dear in Christ!

I am writing to let you know if a small yet very important update to my
project of translating the book "Russia's Catacomb Saints" from print
to an online format.

This evening I purchased:

http://www.RussiasCatacombSaints.com

And at the writting of this email Chapters 1-11 have been uploaded to
the server. There are images to follow with some of the chapters but at
this time I feel it is more important to place the text online for
others to read and thenas soon as the text is uploaded and completed I
will add the images to go with it all.

I assk those who read the text to email me privately and send me (the
many impending) gramatical and/or typographical errors that may (and
invariably will) be found in the text. At the present time I am hoping
to have one chapter finished every week or so as to expidite the
completion of this project.

I ask for your continued prayers for this project and for myself.

In Christ,
Juvenaly Martinka

After some time and "the homicide of my server" the project is back up and running. Same address. A few new chapters are done. I am moving this week and so I will be offline for a while but I will continue to work offline and then upload when I get a chance.

If anyone has a copy of the book and would like to help me it would be very appreciated. Email me or PM me before the 14th of June and I will let you know where we stand wand what needs to be worked on. I would VERY MUCH appreciate someone with a scanner who could scan the images for me and we could get those added ASAP.

I wanted to write to let anyone who is keeping tabs on the growth of the website that we are now up to (working on) Chapter 19. Things are working a lot faster now that I have access to OCR technology where I can scan the book and it is turned into text in a word editor and then code it into HTML.

Things should be completed (hopefully) in the next couple weeks.

I thank you for your prayers for this project.

I just took a look at your site and read a couple of the chapters. Thank you very much for undertaking such a worthy project.

Particularly at this juncture in the history of the Church, it is important that we all be reminded of events which took place not so long ago, but which it seems it has become the fashion to gloss over.

This book is an excellent dose of reality.

I think that for us here in America it is very sobering to remember the words of the dedication of this book:

This book is dedicated
to the Christian Martyrs

TODAY IN RUSSIA
TOMORROW IN AMERICA

How easy it is for us to look at the Lives of the Martyrs of the Church and to think that "this could never happen to us" when in reality... it will...

Chapters 1-20 are completed.

I will be out of town this coming Sunday for a week, but as soon as I return the project will continue. I am also going to try to get as much done this week as possible due to my absence.

Due to the fact that the text is now being scanned and transposed there may be some more errors than normal. If you find any please feel free to email me at the address at the bottom right hand corner of the site.

Thank you again.
