I'm confused. I've nearly heard or thought about this before till now. If this article is true to some extent, I would greatly appreciate it if someone would explain how it is true?

To me, it is better to be sceptical of 15th century Florentian documents and in general of any 'new revelations' coming from 'Roman Catholic" sources.

As a matter of fact, this topic should be moved out of "Synaxarion Orthodoxia" and into "Miscellaneous Issues" - unless someone knows of Orthodox references which support a "St Ismeria" as being the grandmother of the Theotokos.
