The Pope of Alexandria has reinstituted deaconesses.

Thanks for letting us know, Father. Is this the first time that World Orthodoxy has consecrated deaconesses ?

The article points to Sts Tatiana, Olympias and Phoebe as early examples of deaconesses. Is that accurate, if you or anyone else happens to know ?
