Re: In defense of our Archbishop Tikhon...

The so-called mission in Idaho is in some tiny place of which no one has ever heard, and consists of one family - so far. Of course, one cannot mock small beginnings, but there was a bit of overstatement in the Rocana report about this new mission [ presumably for the Rebel Rocana - but maybe they ...

Re: SCHISM: Communion Ruptured between Moscow and Constantinople Patriarchate

Interesting it sounds a lot like nato and the russian federation are running the churches using them as propaganda arms of their control over the people in the regional chess game. There is a high political factor at work here. The Ukrainian president is a western puppet who has turned to the ecume...

Re: SCHISM: Communion Ruptured between Moscow and Constantinople Patriarchate

I have read nothing indicating an actual suspension of communion. The steps described of suspending commemorations and withdrawing from bodies sponsored by the EP are preliminary steps. The break in communion will likely not happen until autocephaly is granted.

Re: "Who Are The GOC?" A New Book By The AOM

What I consider is utterly unimportant. Who am I? A nobody. An unworthy sinner! Saints are not inerrant, so even if they were saints it would not preclude error on either or both of their parts. Re: "Who Are The GOC?" A New Book By The AOMu

My guess is that if the church founded by st matthew was the first to break away from the new calendar goc it could only be the one holy and apostolic church of Greece and any other than them would count as number two church and number three church , so being there can be only one i would avoid the...

Re: Where Did The 8th Ecumenical Council Go?

Jdigrande, As you note, historically there was very little dispute that the Eighth council was Ecumenical, until, at least, the west started to back away from it. I can’t tell you historically how other Orthodox jurisdictions have viewed it and whether the limitation of the councils to seven is an e...

Re: "Who Are The GOC?" A New Book By The AOM

The book is great, besides the anti Matthewite bias found on page 27 called St Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Florina & His struggle for Unity and Truth , where the single handed consecration of Bishop Spyridon is regarded as an uncanonical act. The single handed consecration of a Bishop IS contr...
