Re: The question of Grace: Matthewites vs Kallinikites
Would you be willing to clarify this thought a little more? I seem to remember you writing something similar when the GOC/SiR union first took place, but I don't remember it very well. But I am interested in what you mean. For me it is difficult to separate the "grace question" from any d...

Re: The question of Grace: Matthewites vs. Kallinikites
They can't. As far as I'm concerned, "GOC" refers properly to my jurisdiction alone, headed by Abp Kallinikos. Maria and other members of her church are just going to have to get used to being called GOC-S, just as I accept being called GOC-K when discussing with people outside my church. ...

The question of Grace: Matthewites vs. Kallinikites
My impression is that the Matthewites have always wanted to make the discussion about grace, but that was not the basis of discussion between the GOC-K and the SiR. The issue of faith was whether heretics were inside or outside the Church, and whether the GOC had authority to anathematize heresy, an...

Re: On John (Maximovitch) of San Francisco and the ROCOR
I agree with you that St John should not have broken communion with other ROCOR bishops without them confessing heresy, even if they concelebrated with new calendarists. In the same way, right-confessing ROCOR bishops like St Philaret should not have broken communion with Abp Anthony of Geneva, who ...

Re: Bp Auxentios GOC-K: 1-19-2015 OS - Debate
And the issue is not whether Met Chrysostom was correct to talk of "potential schism", but whether his error was so serious that Bishop Matthew was justified in breaking communion with Met Chrysostom and later consecrating more bishops on his own. I believe his error was not so serious, an...

Re: Bp Auxentios GOC-K: 1-19-2015 OS - Debate
I don't know whether or not St John concelebrated directly with new calendarists, but he was a member of a synod with bishops who did. If you hold to a "light-switch" theory of grace, which many Matthewites seem to do, then it's a problem. If not, then not. But note that St John's opinion ...

Re: The Betrayal Papers (Muslim Brotherhood)
Well I grant Maria originality at least. Usually in these kinds of discussions the consensus is either the Jews, the Masons or the Jesuits. Cyprian also scores some points for calling out the British Royals, but as I pointed out, Lyndon LaRouche was there long before him.
