Re: Metropolitan Chrysostomus of Attica giving relics to new calendar bishops ?

Hopefully it's not true. However I think we need to wait and see evidence before we jump to conclusions. I have seen all sorts of crazy reports about True Orthodox Synods that either turn out to be slander or blown way out of proportion, so we'll wait and see, and look for more evidence.

Re: True orthodoxy in Hungary

I... don't really think Fr. Istvan was in the wrong for joining the GOC-M, but that's just my two cents on the subject.

Re: Proto-ecumenism before the 1920s

The next one was from Denmark and chosen by the Great Powers. He became Georges 1st of Greece and remained Lut...

Re: Ivan Alexandrovich Ilyin[1883-1954]

Oh GOOD, thank you for exposing some of the distortions in that essay. I suspected as much about Ilyin's attitude toward the Soviets in World War II. It sounded preposterous that he was supporting 'the Motherland'. Sounds like wishful thinking on the part of the author about prominent anti-Communis...

Re: Proto-ecumenism before the 1920s

The comments add more insight, too. The Greek royal family had many non-Orthodox members ? I know they weren't very religious, but many had almost no connection with the church ? Could you explain that further, Sava ? Do you mean the people who married into it from other religions but did not conve...

Re: Proto-ecumenism before the 1920s

From my blog : http://orthodoxie-libre.over-blog.com/2024/05/king-edward-3.html It appears that the king Edward VIII had 2 orthodox godparents, contrary to orthodox canons. I could not find details of this they attend or not the baptism. Did they sponsor at distance. I guess I will have to write to...
