Ah, that makes sense. But I do think, like a lacquer on wood, it somehow PROTECTS also. I wore toenail polish for that very reason, not for looks. And same with fingernail polish. I actually like it, and even like the smell of nail polish in a very small dose. I think it blocks out some evil things, though
it's hard to explain.
